Milemaker with Oosterschelde! Start in Saint Petersburg, Florida (US) and make a lot of seamiles under sail with Oosterschelde to Saint George (Bermuda). Get your sea legs and learn to sail a 100-year old Tall Ship. On board you will be part of a watch system, working together with professional crew to bring the Ship from Florida to Bermuda. Learn to steer, hoist the sails and navigate the vessel. Open for all ages, minimum age 15 years. Please make sure that your travel documents (passport, visas) are up to date. We advise you to contact the US embassy in your country for details.

Ports

St Petersburg is a city in Western Florida, across the Tampa Bay from it's larger neighbour-city, Tampa. It's a city that caters to both cultural-minded tourists and those who want to bask in the Floridian sun with a cocktail in hand. Take a surreal trip through the Salvador Dali museum before exploring the sub-street-level oasis of the Sunken Gardens (complete with Flamingos). Alternatively, find an early-20th Century beachfront hotel, and watch the sunset.

Saint George (often called St. George's, a confusion with the parish it is in) is the second town and former capital of Bermuda. Founded in 1612, the town still keeps its historic colonial centre (a UNESCO World Heritage site) - stroll around King's square and feel what the Caribbean was like under the British Empire. Choose to tour heritage buildings or the oldest remaining fortifications in the New World, built to protect the city from attacks by pirates and Spaniards.
