Tall Ships Races 2019 Race 2. Join the Norwegian Tall Ship in her homeport for an exciting race to Denmark. Sleep in hammocks like old-timey sailors, learn to trim the sails, steer and navigate, and try to win the race against dozens of other vessels! Expect a lot of fun in Aarhus, during the festival marking the end of this year’s Races. Departure from Bergen will be at 10 AM on the 24th of July, the ship will arrive in port on the 1st of August. On the 1st and 2nd there will be activities in port like crewparade and crewparty. On the 1st and 2nd lunch and dinner is not included in the boardprice.
Bergen is the gateway to the Fjords of Norway and a well-established cruise port. It's an international city packed with history and tradition, a big city with small-town charm and atmosphere. Stroll around old streets and alleyways, and mingle with the crowds at the Fish Market. Saunter along the listed wooden buildings at Bryggen to the old fortress at Bergenhus, or call in at one of Bergen’s museums and galleries. The panoramic views of the city, the fjord and the ocean are breathtaking.
Aarhus is a port on the northeast coast of Jutland, Denmark. One of its main attractions is the open air museum Den Gamle By, where historical buildings from all over Denmark have been relocated. But the 13th century cathedral is also well worth a visit. Aarhus is a relaxed place with enough to see and do, and its city centre is a favourite with Tall Ship crews who visit the city regularly. West of the city you’ll find lakes and forests, perfect for a hike.
