Rouen (FR) - Scheveningen (NL)

15 June - 22 June 2019

Liberty Tall Ships Regatta. Join the Tenacious in Rouen in northern France for a week of sailing and events. Race other Tall Ships, small Ships and Yachts around a number of waypoints on the English Channel: set the sails, steer the vessel, navigate and enjoy the company of other trainees. Learn everything you need to know about sailing a Tall Ship and spend some time away from the obligations of everyday life. Then reach Scheveningen just outside of the Hague, a port town known for its warm welcome of sailors in various past events. Spend some time enjoying the celebrations in harbour, meeting the crews of other vessels and participating in crew-exclusive happenings such as the Crew Party and Crew Parade. Open to all able-bodied and disabled trainees, minimum age 16 years. The final price may be subject to small changes due to currency exchange rates.

Ports

Rouen is a city with long history located on the River Seine in Normandy, North France. It's also the venue of L'Armada, a sailing festival which will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2019. When visiting Rouen you can't miss the Gothic Cathedral and Palais de Justice. For nature lovers the Roumare Forest just outside the city is the place to be, while art enthusiasts should visit Musee Secq des Tournelles - the wrought iron museum.

Scheveningen is a popular sea resort in the Netherlands, a stone’s throw away from the seat of government in The Hague. It has a busy marina and a lively (somewhat kitschy) promenade – great for an afternoon of sightseeing. You’ll also find plenty to do nearby. Go for a walk in the dune landscape or take a tour around the Palace of Peace. Visit Madurodam to see the Netherlands rebuilt in miniature, check out the city centre of The Hague, or explore the beach and perhaps even go kitesurfing.
