DARWIN200 Global Voyage: Leg 12. Sail from Concepción to the historical city of Valparaiso, home to UNESCO world heritage Spanish colonial architecture. The city is known as “Little San Francisco” and “The Jewel of the Pacific”. Explore the craggy back streets of the colourful old town and savour exotic local fruit and vegetables in traditional markets. This little visited part of South America is home to some of the continents most dramatic coastline and beautiful beaches rich with seals and seabirds.
There is no more Covid-19 protocol on board, but the participants must make sure that they comply with the rules of the countries visited during the Journeys.

Ports

Valparaiso is one of Chile's largest cities, famous for its culture and architecture. Known as the "Jewel of the Pacific" Valparaiso is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Taste fresh seafood in Caleta Portales, take the elevator up the Cerro Concepcion for beautiful views and visit the home of Pablo Neruda. Stroll through the city enjoying the street art and bohemian atmosphere. You can also take a day trip to a nearby beach and the maritime museum for a dose of Chilean naval history.
