Adventure, action, and fun await aboard the Eendracht, the largest three-masted schooner in the Netherlands! While the ship primarily focuses on youth, everyone is welcome to join the voyage. Whether you’re an experienced sailor or a complete beginner, you’ll be part of a meaningful adventure, guided by a skilled crew.
Since 1989, the Eendracht has been a proud participant in the Tall Ships Races almost every year. No prior sailing experience is needed, as the crew will support you every step of the way.
Throughout the year, the Eendracht sails with schools, Exchange@sea trainees, and embarks on exciting journeys in regions like the Baltic Sea, Canary Islands, and the tropical Caribbean providing unforgettable experiences and long-lasting memories to all participants.
In 1938, the national association Het Zeilend Schoolschip (later Het Zeilend Zeeschip) was founded to promote Sail Training on large ships among Dutch youth. The association built its first ship in 1974, a two-masted schooner named Eendracht, meaning ‘unity’ in Dutch. However, within 15 years, the growing enthusiasm for the program made the 15 bunks on board insufficient.
In response, the association commissioned a much larger, three-masted schooner from Damen Shipyards in 1989, honoring the original vessel by naming it Eendracht as well. This impressive ship has been sailing the seas ever since!
The Eendracht offers comfort with all modern conveniences! The ship features eight two-person cabins and six four-person cabins, ensuring a restful sleep at any time. Each cabin is equipped with a washbasin with hot and cold water, along with a private closet. Showers (10) and lavatories (11) are shared.
Meals are enjoyed in the spacious day room, where you can also unwind with fellow crew members between watches. Whether you’re up for a game, a cup of tea, or sharing sea stories, there’s plenty of room for everyone.
Keep an eye out for the Eendracht’s duck mascot, often seen relaxing on deck!
