Wismar is a harbor on the Baltic Sea with a huge market square, lined with 14th century buildings. Wismar is a popular sailing destination, so expect to find loads of ‘yachties’ here. Go and discover the town on foot and enjoy the vibe of the old harbor. The Nicolaikirche and Kirche of St. Georgen both come highly recommended. Nearby you’ll find rural areas that can be fun to explore. And In the Baltic area a good beach is never far away, so go for a swim or find a place for windsurfing.
Flensburg is a German port town, close to the Danish border. It is located on the Flensburg Fjord, an inlet for the Baltic Sea. The old town is well worth a visit, and the hilly environment is ideal for a challenging walk. Visit some of the museums and conclude the day in one of the many local restaurants or taverns.
