Christian Radich:
Bergen (NO) - Stavanger (NO)

18 April - 24 April 2015

Join the Christian Radich for a sail training journey to the Shetland Islands and along the Norwegian coast. Experience the open ocean, see imposing fjords and secluded inlets, and visit the remote Shetland Islands while you learn to handle the sails of this magnificent Tall Ship. You’ll make fast friends with your fellow trainees as you work on deck, help out with navigation and steering, and be on the lookout during one of the night watches. Work as a team to get the most out of Christian Radich’s sail performance! From Bergen to Stavanger via the Shetlands – it’s the perfect combination of fairy tale-like scenery and the ruggedness of the North Sea. Open to all ages, minimum age 12 years. Age 12-15 years guided by parent/adult.

Get out of the winter gloom with joining the Christian Radich for a week in April. As the sun come back out and the weather is warmer, the Tall Ships Christian Radich will be sailing from Bergen to Stavanger through the Shetland Islands.

Ports

Bergen is the gateway to the Fjords of Norway and a well-established cruise port. Bergen is an international city packed with history and tradition, a big city with small-town charm and atmosphere. Stroll around old streets and alleyways, and mingle with the crowds at the Fish Market. Saunter along the listed wooden buildings at Bryggen to the old fortress at Bergenhus, or call in at one of Bergen’s museums and galleries. The panoramic views of the city, the fjord and the ocean are breathtaking.

Stavanger is a modern port, but retains a small historic district. The lovely old harbour is a favourite stopover for big cruiseships, that tower over the buildings. The city has a lively cultural scene, and is surrounded by numerous outdoor destinations well worth a visit. Explore the narrow, rocky Lysefjord and the mountains Preikestolen and Kjerag, or relax on Jæren's beaches. Make sure to bring hiking boots, as the mountains stand over 1000 meters tall.
