Gallant:
Amsterdam (NL) - Hamburg (DE)

03 May - 06 May 2015

Quick! Grab your go bag, and step on board the Gallant to sail her from Amsterdam to Hamburg, in time for her next engagement there. This short Journey along the Dutch coast is the ultimate quick Windseeker getaway. Embark in the Amsterdam harbour, sail down the river IJ and pass the IJmuiden locks to reach the North Sea. From there, you’ll follow the Dutch coastline and sail past the Wadden Islands on your way to Hamburg. While on board you’ll be an integral part of the crew. So take your place at the helm, keep a lookout, or conjure up some hearty food from the galley to nourish your fellow Windseekers as you catch the prevaling southeasterly winds and speed across the waters of the everchanging North Sea. Open to Windseekers of all ages, minimum age 15 years (from age 12 years at request).

Ports

With more bicycles than people, cycling is an integral part of Amsterdam's DNA. Hop on and see the city like the locals do! Winding waterways, idyllic bridges and historic buildings - one of the most memorable ways to truly see Amsterdam is from the canals. Amsterdam has a full cultural agenda showcasing the very best festivals, nightlife, exhibitions & events, plus there is enough practical tourist info, hotel, museum, excursion & attraction listings, you won't miss a thing!

The port of Hamburg, on the river Elbe, is the second largest port in Europe. Hamburg has more than 40 theatres, 60 museums and 100 music venues and clubs. Hamburg was awarded the title of European Green Capital for 2011. Hamburg is noted for several festivals and regular events. Hafengeburtstag is a funfair to honor the birthday of the port of Hamburg with a party and a ship parade. Christmas markets in December are held at the Hamburg Rathaus square, among other places.
