Tecla:
Amsterdam (NL) - Oban (GB)

11 April - 24 April 2016

Join the Tecla at the Caledonian Canal. The first few days will be spend out at sea. Leaving Amsterdam, a stretch of over 400 miles. A bit of real North Sea sailing, before you arrive in Inverness. Travel through Scotland, using the 107 kilometres long Caledonian Canal fitted out with 29 locks! Take Neptune’s staircase, find out if the Monster of Loch Ness will show its face to you or drink a beer in one of the lock pubs! We will spend several days in the Canal, under the watch full eye of Ben Nevis, standing at 1,344 metres (4,409 ft) above sea level. Sailing through the Canal, there will be days that we can not sail everything. These days can be spend with amazing walks along the Canal and up into the mountains of Scotland. There will be enough time to take in the scenery and get lost in the mystic feeling of the true Scotland. Open to all ages, minimum age 15 years

Ports

With more bicycles than people, cycling is an integral part of Amsterdam's DNA. Hop on and see the city like the locals do! Winding waterways, idyllic bridges and historic buildings - one of the most memorable ways to truly see Amsterdam is from the canals. Amsterdam has a full cultural agenda showcasing the very best festivals, nightlife, exhibitions & events, plus there is enough practical tourist info, hotel, museum, excursion & attraction listings, you won't miss a thing!

Oban (meaning ‘little bay’ in Gaelic) is a small harbor town on the west coast of Scotland, famous for its whiskey distillery. The town occupies a beautiful setting in the Firth of Lorn, and is a perfect place to find shelter from the Atlantic. Walking around town is a pleasure, and close by you’ll find mountains, castles, dramatic coastal scenery, and McCaig’s tower that resembles the Colosseum. In the first week of August, the town plays host to West Highland week, a yearly sailing regatta.
