Alexander von Humboldt II:
Flensburg (DE) - Travemünde (DE)

14 June - 19 June 2015

Sail from Flensburg via Marstal to Travemünde and discover the Baltic coasts of Germany and Denmark. Muster on deck of the German Tall Ship Alexander von Humboldt II and hone your seamanship skills as a Sail Trainee. Visit the land of the old Vikings. Learn to sail the ship and make friends with the other Windseekers on board. Enjoy star filled nights and the smell of the sea. Follow the footsteps of the old Baltic merchants, and arrive in a German harbor where you’ll likely celebrate your Journey together by dining in traditional German style. And remember, there’s no such thing as too much wind! Open to all ages, minimum age 14 years.

Ports

Flensburg is a German port town, close to the Danish border. It is located on the Flensburg Fjord, an inlet for the Baltic Sea. The old town is well worth a visit, and the hilly environment is ideal for a challenging walk. Visit some of the museums and conclude the day in one of the many local restaurants or taverns. Did you know that Flensburg is the homeport of Tall Ship Gorch Fock? Flensburg is also home to a large Danish community, so be prepared to flex your language muscle… Moin-moin!
