Anne-Margaretha:
Tromsö (NO) - Bear Island (NO) - Longyearbyen (NO)

21 May - 03 June 2017

Tromsø- Bear Island- Spitsbergen (Longyearbyen). Visit a Polar Museum in Tromsø before setting sails for a remote Bear Island on the Barents Sea, then continue on to Hornsund on Spitsbergen. See the magnificent glaciers, remains of whalers, sometimes polar bears, reindeer, walruses and of course all kinds of birds. Visit the Recherche Fjord and Tryghamna to see even more exotic polar wildlife. Finally arrive in Longyearbyen, the capital of Spitsbergen.

Ports

Only 2000 km from the North Pole Tromsö is the capital of Norway’s high north, home to 70 000 inhabitants who live on the edge of the Arctic. This well operated cruise destination is positioned in a spectacular setting between islands, iconic fjords and mountain peaks, midway between the North Cape and Lofoten Islands.

Longyearbyen is a capital of Norwegian Svalbard archipelago, located on the Spitsbergen island. If you want to experience the arctic climate, although tempered by a warm current, Spitsbergen is the place to visit. Look for seabirds, reindeer and marine mammals but watch out for polar bears! Don't be fooled by the town's remote location and small size: you can find there two museums, art galleries and a cinema.
