Atyla:
Cartagena (ES) - Sines (PT)

03 November - 12 November 2016

Join the Atyla! From Cartagena ATYLA will head out into the Mediterranean sea, passing through the Strait of Gibraltar, past Tangier and Cádiz and into the Atlantic Ocean towards Sines, Portugal. On board you participate in the daily working of the ship alongside professional seamen, standing lookout, manning the helm, helping in the galley, hoisting sail and voluntarily have the chance to climb the rigging/mast. Open for all Windseekers, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

Cartagena is a city in the southeast of Spain along the Mediterranean coast and one of the most important naval ports in Spain (also historically). It is the main military base and a home to a large naval shipyard. The Old Town is limited by five small hills: Molinete, Monte Sacro, Monte de San José, Despeñaperros and Monte de la Concepción, following the example of Rome. Enjoy the Spanish culture of food and beverages! Try some tasty tapas, local wine and fresh caught sea food.

Sines is a small Portugese city with a large port, famous for being the birthplace of Vasco da Gama. Formerly a fishing village, the town center retained its quiant atmosphere, despite fast-paced industrialisation. Today you can relax on in the warm sand of the beautiful beaches or, if you feel like taking a walk, climb up to the XV-century castle and take in the beautiful vista.
