Rendez-vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta: Halifax-Le Havre, Transatlantic Race 5. The Rendez-vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta ends with a Transatlantic race to Europe. The French town Le Havre is the finish port. Sailing on board a historic ship is always special, but crossing the Atlantic in a race with other Tall Ships is unique. On board you participate in the daily working of the ship alongside professional seamen, standing lookout, manning the helm, helping in the galley, hoisting sail and voluntarily have the chance to climb the rigging/mast. Sailingdays will be 31, days in port: 3. For all Windseekers, minimum age 15 years. The limited special offer no longer available.

Programme Outline

Ports

Halifax port is one of the largest fishing ports in the world and the largest Canadian naval base. You may visit several museums and art galleries and take part in one of many festivals. Take a stroll down Halifax Harbourwalk and sit down in one of the multiple cafes, restaurants and bars offering a wide variety of world cuisines - a testament to the city's multiculturality.

Le Havre is a large north French maritime commercial and passenger port established in the early XVI century. The city in on the UNESCO World Heritage Site for its historical buildings and is considered a birthplace of impressionism. Walk in the steps of Monet and discover the places you know from modern art. Take a hiking tour, visit one of the nearby castles (chateau), the Graville abbey, see the hanging gardens or take a walk in one of the many city parks.
