Seize the rare opportunity to cross the Caledonian Channel on board of a sailing yacht, with this delivery leg from Hartlepool to Belfast on board the Black Diamond of Durham. You and your fellow Windseekers will be an integral part of the crew, helping out with every aspect of sailing the ship under their experienced guidance. You’ll sail up the east coast of Scotland, traverse the Canal, cross the famous Loch Ness, and the Irish Sea… A journey filled with beautiful sights that could not possibly be more varied. You will arrive in Belfast in time for the Sail Belfast event with all festivities! By that time you’ll have made new friends and gained new skills, like any true Windseeker would. Open for 16-25 years (25+ at request).

Ports

Hartlepool is a British port on the east coast of the UK, with a tradition of maritime activity. In 2010, the town played host to the Tall Ships Races, receiving some 125 Tall Ships in its harbor. Spend some time around the harbor and the city centre, visit the nearby North York Moors national park, or relive the heyday of the British navy at the Maritime Experience. If you have come to like the mastclimbing on board, there is a boulder park in Summerhill where you can reach for the top again!

Belfast is the capital and the largest city of Northern Ireland. It started out as a small hamlet with fertile land along the mouth of the Lagan. Soon, marauders and pirates realised Belfast’s lough was deep and their shores were the perfect haven for repairing sea ravaged ships. Today Belfast is a wonderful city to explore! Visit the Titanic quarter waterfront, the Ulster Museum, or the Odyssey area where you'll find lots of entertainment. And spend some time in one of Belfast's many pubs.
