Eendracht:
Jamaica (JM) - Azores (PT)

25 February - 20 March 2025

Atlantic crossing to the Azores. Beautiful starry nights, sunsets, the wind in your hair, dolphin and whale watching, and weeks of only sea as a view – the Atlantic Crossing. A real bucket list trip. Join the Eendracht in the Caribbean, and set course for the horizon, sailing in watches day and night, across the ocean. Enjoy the time spent without cell phone reception, completely surrendered to the forces of nature: sun, sea and wind. Reach the islands of eternal spring, the Azores, often visited by various species of whales, and a traditional stopping point for ships crossing the Atlantic. Are you up for the challenge?
Open to all Windseekers aged 15-80.

Ports

Jamaica is an island country and one of the Greater Antilles islands in the Caribbean Sea. With 2.8 million people, it is one of the largest countries in the Caribbean. The capital is Kingston, although you might have heard more about the historical Port Royal, the old pirate town destroyed by an earthquake. Jamaica boasts beautiful beaches, with spectacular coral reefs - perfect for snorkelling - and the stunning Blue Mountains, and it's a home to many tropical plants and animals.

The Azores are a group of 9 islands in the Atlantic Ocean, west of the Iberian Peninsula, and an autonomous region of Portugal. Sailors and trainees can explore several ports, and many do as part of an Atlantic crossing - but the most famous is Horta, which has a large port and marina. For longer visits, tourists can venture up the numerous volcanic peaks, or try one of many outdoor activities such a whale watching or mountain biking.

STO Garant

This Journey is covered by the STO Garant guarantee. You can find the conditions for this guarantee scheme on STO Garant’s website (www.sto-garant.nl/en/downloads).

This process is automatic and you do not need to do anything else. After receiving your booking, Windseeker will send you detailed information on how and when to pay for your journey – together with all the other important details.

What does it mean?

In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee. The Guarantee Scheme details how you can make a claim under the guarantee in such cases. You can read more about this here.
