13 January - 19 January 2024

From Atlantic to the Med: sailing around the Iberian Peninsula. Join the Eendracht in Leixoes (just outside of Porto,) the heart of the Portuguese song of life – Fado. Hoist the sails and set course south for the Strait of Gibraltar, where you will leave the Atlantic Ocean behind and enter the Mediterranean Sea. Sail around the Iberian Peninsula and make your way to Alicante, a wonderful destination on the Costa Blanca, known for its mild winters, beautiful beaches and sights.
Open to Windseekers aged 15-80.
Pre-night and after-night possible: spend longer on board for additional fee (prices depend on the cabin.)

Ports

Leixoes is a port town in northern Portugal, only 10 km out of Porto. It's one of Portugal's major seaports located near the estuary of the Douro River. Take a walk to the old fortifications, dine in one of the many seafood restaurants and then relax on a sandy beach. If you have more time and would like to explore, take a trip to nearby Porto, famous for its architecture - and wine!

Alicante is a port city on the Costa Blanca, Mediterranean coast of Spain. Climb up to the 16-century Castle of Santa Barbara for a great view over the city and take a stroll through the lively Explanada de Espana with its many cafes and restaurants. Visit Barrio Santa Cruz for a taste of authentic local culture and if you love everything sailing-related don't miss the Volvo Ocean Race Museum.

STO Garant

This Journey is covered by the STO Garant guarantee. You can find the conditions for this guarantee scheme on STO Garant’s website (www.sto-garant.nl/en/downloads).

This process is automatic and you do not need to do anything else. After receiving your booking, Windseeker will send you detailed information on how and when to pay for your journey – together with all the other important details.

What does it mean?

In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee. The Guarantee Scheme details how you can make a claim under the guarantee in such cases. You can read more about this here.
