Morgenster:
Mindelo (CV) - Fernando de Noronha (BR)

02 October - 16 October 2025

Join the Morgenster for an Atlantic Crossing from Cape Verde to Brazil! Set sail on the island of São Vicente and leave the archipelago behind, propelled by the winds towards South America. Get into the rhythm of life on board, learning about sail a brig, navigating, meteorology, and ship maintenance through hands-on experience. Somewhere along the way you will cross the equator – a milestone for every sailor, with a proper initiation ceremony for the first-timers! There is a high chance of spotting whales, flying fish, dolphins or even sunfish. Stop by in the Saint Peter and Saint Paul Archipelago, before picking up the southeast trade winds for the final days of sailing toward Fernando de Noronha. On October 16th, after breakfast, you will say goodbye to your fellow sailors and the ship, having gained the experience of an Atlantic crossing and equator passage.
Open to all Windseekers aged 18-73 years (please note that this is not a youth voyage and we expect a big variety of ages on board). Younger trainees, accompanied by an adult, at request.

Ports

Mindelo is a city on the island of São Vicente in the Cape Verde archipelago. It was founded by the Portugese in the late XVIII century. Visit Centro Cultural do Mindelo and see the Bronzestatue Diogo Alfonso with its interesting history. Visit one of the numerous small cafes for a seafood meal, coffee or a glass of wine. If you're looking for something more active try kitesurfing - the conditions are perfect in Cape Verde!
