Morgenster:
Port Blanc (FR) - Cherbourg (FR)

02 June - 08 June 2019

Christian Bickert Memorial voyage around Brittany. Brittany was the favorite area of Christian Bickert (Amis des Grand Voliers). He loved bringing his friends here during summertime, sharing his enthusiasm for sailing and for the beautiful region. Join Morgenster in Port Blanc, France. Get to know your crewmates and after learning about the safety on board pull up the anchor and sail away. Make your way around Brittany while learning to set the sails (also climbing the masts if you will want to!), navigate, steer and look out for other vessels which might be on your course. Spend a few days relaxing while out on the sea, enjoying the rolling of the deck, the silence, bright stars and – who knows? – maybe also some dolphins! Open to all Windseekers aged 15 and over.

Ports

Port-Blanc is a small village in the department Côtes-d’Armor, on the North coast of Brittany. It is said to have one of the most beautiful coasts in the region. For history, visit the traditional Britain chapel, made of stones and semi-buried. Enjoy the view of the small islands nearby, the seascape and the breathtaking coast of Granit Rose. And if you like to keep active, go hiking near the coast, on the Les Douaniers path, among the beautiful fragrance of local flowers.

Situated on the Normandy coast, Cherbourg-Octeville is close to the Channel Islands of Jersey and Guernsey, and to a large nature park in the southeast. This makes Cherbourg perfect as a base for several day trips. But the town itself also has plenty to offer any Windseekers. Visit the Cité de la Mer, a large museum devoted to scientific and historical aspects of maritime subjects, the Botanical Gardens, or the racetrack at La Glacerie. Or discover this typically French town on foot.
