Puerto Montt (CL) - Rapa Nui (CL)

10 April - 30 April 2025

From Patagonia to Polynesia: cruising on the Pacific Ocean. Board Tecla is Puerto Montt, in the Lake District of Chile. Depending on weather and wind, a plan will be made for the first few days. This may include one or more stops in the Lake District. Setting sail from Chilean mainland, this voyage will include a stop to explore the Juan Fernandez Islands. There are several sheltered anchorages possible, depending on wind and swells. After a couple of days to stretch your sea legs, you will set sail for Easter Island, Rapa Nui: the tropical place known known for the standing heads Moai. This mighty crossing of 1,650 miles will take around 10 days, during which you will get into the rhythm of sailing the traditional ship Tecla. Open for all Windseekers, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

Puerto Montt is a port city in southern Chile and a great starting point for many nature trips. Visit the
Volcan Osorno which is a must-see with its breathtaking views. Take a walk through Angelmo fish market to get a taste of the town's atmosphere and later enjoy the seafood in one of the local resturants. Finally, visit the Catedral de Puerto Montt, a uniqie wooden church with long history.

Rapa Nui - or Easter Island - is a remote island on the Pacific Ocean. It belongs to Chile. Famous for its hundreds of giant stone statues (Moai), Rapa Nui is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Go diving with the underwater Moai, admire the Milky Way at night without the light pollution, explore the Anthropological Museum and try the local specialties for an all round experience.
