La Nébuleuse is a beautiful French vessel, boasting a 19-meter hull (with an overall length of 32 meters) and a generous beam of 6 meters. With an impressive 360 m2 of sail area, the ship offers an exhilarating sailing experience. It can accommodate up to 60 passengers dockside, 38 for day trips, and comfortably hosts 18 people for overnight voyages.
La Nébuleuse, a former tuna fishing dinghy hailing from Camaret (France), was constructed in 1949. For nearly four decades, from 1949 to 1987, she navigated the waters of the Bay of Biscay, tirelessly seeking tuna from June to September. During the winter months, like her counterparts in the sailing tuna fleet, La Nébuleuse engaged in dredging. Her hauls often exceeded 19 tonnes on single voyages, with a staggering record of 740 tuna caught in a single day!
La Nébuleuse eventually retired from fishing in 1987. Following a meticulous restoration effort spanning from 1991 to 1999, she embarked on a new chapter in 1999, offering voyages in the Bréhat archipelago and beyond, traversing the French and European coastlines with grace and charm.
